The Bryn Tyrch Hotel, April 1998

Situated on the A5 Holyhead Road at Capel Curig within sight of Snowdon. Not really a locals pub, more of a hotel/pub for holiday makers and walkers and it's guaranteed to be lively at weekends. The bar staff are friendly and serve a good pint of Castle Eden Ale amongst others and also serve country wines. The bar itself is beamed, the seating old pews and comfortable chairs around a fire.

Food is served between midday and 9.30pm. They specialise in vegetarian and wholefood and the meals are guaranteed to fill and satisfy.

Accommodation is also available. It's fairly cheap and known to be good value though basic, but do book ahead as they often have large groups staying. If the hotel is full though, there are plenty of others in the area, and there's always the campsite a mile down the road towards Betws-y-Coed.
