Green Dragon Inn, St. Thomas Square, MONMOUTH, NP25 5ES [Map]
It's easy to find. Just follow the main street down to the Monnow Bridge, admire it, cross it, and you'll see the pub behind the small roundabout. A friendly landlord greeted us as we walked in to the pub. There's 2 comfortable bars in the pub, both of which were full of locals enjoying a pint and/or some of the reasonably priced varied home-made food. Beerwise I had a great pint of Hancock's HB and Morrell's Varisty, the latter one of their selection of guest beers. Both were excellently served and cheered me up no end - I'd been stung by a wasp on my right foot that morning and could hardly walk. The beer reduced the pain considerably! One other point worth mentioning are the amusing cartoons in the men's loos. I say men's loos as Christine wandered into the ladies and found none there. I guess it must be men's toilet humour only!
