White Hart Inn, 66 James Street, CARDIFF, CF10 5EZ [Map]
Came across this pub by accident whilst walking around the new Cardiff Bay development near the James Street Docks. It's a real locals bar with plenty of character just around the corner from Cardiff Bay railway station. Nothing special too look at from the outside but an excellent pint of Brains Dark (ABV 3.5%), a mild and Brains Bitter (ABV 3.7%), a hoppy bitter beer, inside. The pub has various awards for the quality of their beer. Almost all pubs in Cardiff seem to stock Brains beers but this was the only one of three that we visited where it tasted really good. Just a single bar inside, simply furnished with a wooden floor. A pub with no frills like food but great beer on offer. The landlord has won several Brain's 'Best Kept Cellar' awards. Note that the pub is closed on Sunday evenings.
